A Love Worth Retweeting
Although Darius and Phillip both grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, they didn’t meet until both were living in Washington DC and Phillip began following Darius on Twitter. A year-long friendship later, true love was posted on their hearts.
Darius, a speech pathologist, and Phillip, a government affairs manager, knew they wanted to get married in Washington. “DC is the center of our life,” says Darius. Kimpton Hotel Monaco DC charmed the couple with its gorgeous interior design — and with the “warm and confident demeanor” of the hotel’s event director, Buddee.
The morning of their wedding, Darius relaxed at a nearby spa, while Phillip took a run around the monuments. Later, nuptial activities were in full swing with photos on the hotel’s marble stairway and in the glamorous Paris Ballroom. Following a short ceremony, the dashing duo celebrated with guests over cocktails, live music and a three-course meal.
